Eclipsed
Yesterday I was reading and thinking and chatting with Father from Isaiah 60 - a beautiful chapter of restoration and coming home and comfort and blessing. It paints a beautiful picture in my mind as I read it. You should take some time to explore it today and let Father direct your mind's eye to see the picture from His heart. The verses I think of now as I recall the eclipse of yesterday were these:
1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
19 The sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,
for the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory.
20 Your sun will never set again,
and your moon will wane no more;
the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your days of sorrow will end."
He is my glory. His light shines upon me. He, Himself rises upon me and His glory appears over me. And He wants me to arise and shine. To me, shining means Spirit control, surrendering my flesh to allow Father to conform, transform and renew me to be like Christ.
As I think on these verses the picture of the one shining in His light is not a picture of the moon as a reflection that takes what light it can get and suffers eclipses by worldly things. And it isn't a picture of the sun that blazes from its own internal fire that disappears in the horizon each night. Instead, it is a picture of a life standing fully in His glorious presence with no fear of eclipse and no need for its own internal fire. The passage says that when He is our glory, our sun will never set and our moon will never wane.
Father, thank You for reminding me with a phenomenon of Your amazing creation, that You are my glory, my light. Thank You for reminding me that in Christ, I can stand fully in Your glorious presence, bathed in Your glorious light. Thank You for working in me so that each time I feel eclipsed or let my own internal fire blaze for myself and find it disappearing in the horizon, I can arise and shine in Your light alone.
Everyone arise and shine!! Your light has come. His name is Jesus. If you don't know Him and His light, get more info at my website: http://www.amyharvison.com/him.html. Bless you!!!
