Creator's Glory Part Two

My last blog was a reminder to my heart that I was created for God's glory - created to worship - and it inspired me to worship more and more and more.  I pray it did the same for you.  Today my heart is worshiping as He reminds me that worship really hasn't a thing to do with me...  Contrary to the way i normally behave and think - it really isn't about me.  It is all about Him.  Or at least it should be.  Right?  Why would I worship Him if He was not worthy?  And how could I worship if He had not given me hands to raise and a voice that can speak and sing and eyes that can look to heaven and legs that can dance with joy before Him?  And if I truly believe that, then why is it that I don't worship Him all of the time?

Sometimes I just don't feel like it.  Sometimes I'm having one of those 'blah' days or - even worse - one of those 'I'm in a really bad mood' days and nothing in me wants to worship.  Or what about those times when I am feeling particularly sinful or remorseful and I feel unworthy to enter into a place of worship?  Or what about when I just feel like doing what I want to do instead of stopping and praising Him for something amazing I see or hear or experience that is His glory pure and simply magnificent?  Isn't He still worthy of my worship?

I was created for His glory - created to worship Him - He is worthy of all praise.  So my every breath, move, thought, word, and deed should be an act of worship to the glory of my Creator.  Romans 12:1 in the Amplified Bible says this:  I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.  So what about when I don't feel like it?  Or when I feel unworthy?  Or I am too busy?

Well, if worshiping Him is not all about me, then I worship even when I don't feel like it, even when I feel unworthy and even when I am too busy.  It is all about Him.

So when I feel 'blah' or I'm in a bad mood, I will choose to worship Him because He deserves it and He makes me smile and praising Him changes my mood from bad to joyful.
  Habakkuk 3:17-18:  Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

And when I feel unworthy, I will choose to worship Him because He is worthy -  because what Jesus Christ did for me has made me always worthy in Father's eyes.  I can enter the throne room with confidence that He will receive my praise.  Colossians 1:22:  But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.

And although this world distracts me and gets me too busy, I will stop and worship Him each time I see or hear or experience His pure and glorious magnificence.  What in this world could ever be more important than giving my Creator the glory He deserves?

Psalm 145

A psalm of praise. Of David.
 1 I will exalt you, my God the King;
       I will praise your name for ever and ever.

 2 Every day I will praise you
       and extol your name for ever and ever.

 3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
       his greatness no one can fathom.

 4 One generation will commend your works to another;
       they will tell of your mighty acts.

 5 They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty,
       and I will meditate on your wonderful works. [b]

 6 They will tell of the power of your awesome works,
       and I will proclaim your great deeds.

 7 They will celebrate your abundant goodness
       and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

 8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate,
       slow to anger and rich in love.

 9 The LORD is good to all;
       he has compassion on all he has made.

 10 All you have made will praise you, O LORD;
       your saints will extol you.

 11 They will tell of the glory of your kingdom
       and speak of your might,

 12 so that all men may know of your mighty acts
       and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

 13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
       and your dominion endures through all generations.
       The LORD is faithful to all his promises
       and loving toward all he has made. [c]

 14 The LORD upholds all those who fall
       and lifts up all who are bowed down.

 15 The eyes of all look to you,
       and you give them their food at the proper time.

 16 You open your hand
       and satisfy the desires of every living thing.

 17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways
       and loving toward all he has made.

 18 The LORD is near to all who call on him,
       to all who call on him in truth.

 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
       he hears their cry and saves them.

 20 The LORD watches over all who love him,
       but all the wicked he will destroy.

 21 My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD.
       Let every creature praise his holy name
       for ever and ever.
