New Day

Revelation 21:
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."  5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." (NIV)

I have always looked at this passage as a 'someday' but it is today.  Today we are His Bride, beautifully dressed for Him - by Him - in Him.  Today the dwelling of God is with us and today He lives with us and in us.  We are His people and He is our God.  Will you let His hand wipe away your tears?  There is no more death for those in Christ - we have his resurrected life as our own and we will be with Him forever.  So why do we mourn and cry and suffer in our pain?  Is it because we are still looking at the old order of things that has passed?  He has made everything new.  Everything.  See it and believe it and live it today.  I've written it down for you.  It is true.  And He is trustworthy.

II Corinthians 5:17 Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! (The Message)

Celebrating life,
Amy
