Thanksgiving Day Parade

Psalm 44:11  All day we parade God's praise—  we thank you by name over and over.  (The Message)

All week long I've been reading messages and words from people talking about giving thanks and praising - reminders during this holiday season to thank and praise the One who is the giver of all good things.  He is worthy of our praise.  And we all need reminding.

I woke up at 4:44 this morning with a song in my head: All my delight is in You, Lord - all of my hope, all of my strength..." and I looked at the clock and smiled at Him.  He was reminding me that He is good and worthy of my praise.  And I need reminding.  Just yesterday I experienced the lovingkindness of His hand as He made His nearness known and touched my heart with joy and comfort and encouragement right when I needed it.  I think many times He lets me go without the things I want and need just so He can provide them at the perfect time.  And when He does, I am reminded of His goodness and I am compelled to praise Him.  And that reminds me that He is worthy of my praise all of the time.

A couple of days ago I woke up with a song in my head that was reflecting on what it will be like in heaven when all we do is worship and Romans 12:1 followed that song.  Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  NASB.   And He reminded me that He is good and worthy of praise - all of the time - today - and forever.  So instead of imagining heaven when all I will do is worship, I began to imagine life here on earth if I lived in constant worship and praise.  Can you imagine that?  There would be no room for any of the nonsense that fills my days.  Every word and every thought and every deed would be devoted to His praise and I would live in complete and constant trust and communion with Him - whether I was getting what I wanted and needed or not.  That is what I imagine heaven will be like.  And He is worthy of that in my life today.  And living like that would truly be heaven on earth.

He is my delight, my hope, and my strength.  Today I will praise Him and thank Him by name over and over.  He is worthy.  And tomorrow I will pray and ask Him to remind me to praise Him and thank Him by name over and over.  And the next day I will do the same.  For He is worthy.

Leading the parade,
Amy

It is interesting that you mentioned the time that you awoke. God has been speaking to me during the night watches and I note the time when I get a message from Him. In the morning I read a scripture corresponding to the time.
Recently, I was awaked by a dream and noted the time 4:13. Some of the time I record the dream and time but not that night. I told God that I would remember the dream and read John 4:13. Just before I woke, God said Philippians. So I read Philippians 4:13. The verse and dream could not have been more timely. "Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead."
I had been in a holding pattern and knew that it was time to move forward.

Hello Elaine!  Father speaks to me with times a lot - He is always faithful to bring His message to me in the perfect way and at the perfect time.  I am praying for you to take hold of what He has ahead for you.  Bless you!
