The Ride
As she walked toward the clearing ahead
With a sense of anticipation,
Sunlight streamed in rays of hope
Between the tall trees of green.
Her heart said something great was waiting.
She smelled the clean morning air.
Dew had fallen on the field and flowers.
Her warm breath was a tangible vapor.
As the edge of the forest came into view
A man stood by two horses of white.
A look of love was on his face
And it seemed he gave the day its light.
Her feet could not stop moving
As if floating on the essence of dreams.
Her heart nearly stopped beating
But she was captivated and drawn to him.
She stepped into the bright sun of the day.
He reached out his hand for hers.
Smiling gently he lifted her up
And placed her on one of the horses.
Her eyes were riveted on his.
She could not divert her gaze
Until he looked over his shoulder
At a waiting army with weapons raised.
The time had come for her to ride
With the others all dressed in white -
Not just a foot soldier but at his side -
A warrior made strong to win the fight.
With grace he mounted the other horse,
His gentle nod was the command to move.
All the troops followed in silent song -
The drumbeat falling from horses hooves.

Revelation 19:11-16 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Beautiful and encouraging....
